Block play

While outside this morning the children noticed the new blocks that were set up for play in the open grass area located between the two structures.

At first there were only a few blocks out, which made the children wonder where the rest were. That's when they noticed the shed....full of more blocks.

Some of the blocks were a little heavy, so lucky for them the blocks came with a really cool wheel barrel to help them out!

Once all the blocks were out and ready to use the children got right to using their imagination and building some really creative structures.

"I'm building a house"
"This is my train"
"Look how high I built this tower!"
"Use the wheel barrel"

It was wonderful to see all the children working together and taking turns though out their time playing with these blocks.

The Creek

The majority of this past week was spent exploring the small creek at the park. Each day that the children were there the water in the creek was always different. Small stream, no stream and a huge stream of water. This brought about many different and fun play experiences.

Here is a video of their time at the creek.

Note: All water play was closely supervised by at least one teacher
at all times.

Outdoor week!

This week has been an incredible adventure. No toys needed to make everyone happy!

Thank you to all of our families for being so supportive during this experience, we know we added to your laundry load many times! Your children will thank you now and when they are older for allowing these activities to happen in their lives.

Here is a video of our week,  enjoy😀

Frogs!!

We were so very excited to find a frog while exploring the park. He was hiding in the rocks by a little puddle of water!

We talked about how to hold a frog so that we wouldn't hurt it. Then we got to hold him if we wanted to. Not everyone did but we each got a chance to look at him and see how he jumped.

A nice place to rest!!!

Once everyone that wanted to hold the frog got a chance, we put it back in the wet area so he could live happily in nature.

We were still very interested in what he would do so we sat around and watched him.

We love the outdoor classroom!

Planting!

Last week we started planting some of the garden boxes for our friends in School Age 1. In the summer our teachers will be preparing different snacks from the vegtables that are being grown in the garden boxes.

The Zoo

Our first big field trip was a huge success! We were so happy that everyone could join us and enjoy exploring the Zoo.

We began our day with an exciting game of finding animals that started with each letter of the alphabet. We found an animal for each letter by the time our day was over.

We would like to thank our two wonderful volunteers, Oma and Nonna for helping keep all the children happy and safe during our field trip.

Here is a video of our day.

Airport Park

This morning we went on a long walk to Airport Park. It took us 20 minutes to walk there. We walked holding a partners hand. There was a lot of time for talking about our weekend and our surroundings with our partner.

When we arrived at the park the teachers did a safety check while we exclaimed over all the exciting things there were to do.

The most popular activity was the zip line.

"My hat blew off!"

"I'm flying!"

There was even a line up. We all waited patiently for our turn.

Spinning really fast and then shouting, "That's enough!". Then laughing while spinning around and around!

We worked on our strength and endurance when climbing to the top of the climber. We really had to use our upper body strength to pull ourselves up to the top. We felt a sense of pride and accomplishment when we made it to the top.

"Higher" and "Faster"!!
